This fabric was made in India
Available in only limited quantity
Handwoven on antique looms in a small town in India, where members of a women's cooperative create this beautiful fabric as part of their way to support their families and educate their children. This luminously glorious silk is almost translucent. Perfect for scarves, lingerie, blissful curtains, and so much more. It weighs in at just barely less than an ounce per square yard, and is undyed -- what you see is the natural color of the beautiful silk threads.
The fabric can look different depending on how it catches the light and what background is lending its color. The base color is an almost golden natural ivory-ish, and we highly recommend requesting a swatch to see for yourself.
Silk should be hand-washed only, preferably with a special silk detergent. Pull into shape after washing and air dry. Be careful to iron the slightly damp cloth on low temperatures only. Sprinkling before ironing may cause water stains.
